Happy end-of-January to all who celebrate. I had never had issue with the first month of the Gregorian calendar year until I moved to Ireland, and let me tell you, it hits different.
I’d never lived so far north? So the deep, deep darkness of the period from the autumn solstice/clocks going back didn’t have the effect it has here, which is the feeling that the sun will never stay again.
Having said that, to be fair, I’d never celebrated the winter solstice in a way that made me wish to dance around a bonfire and greet the returning sun. So there’s that, too.
Nor! Had I ever experienced seeing flowers start blooming the second February arrived.
New look, new host
I decided late last year to move to WordPress, where I have more blogs than one person should administrate. I wanted something cleaner and more direct, and here we are! As ever, I promise not to spam.
