Happy World Orca ~Day… Yesterday!

Better late than never.

There’s one fish in A Wolf in Duke’s Clothing, a footman called Shaddock, but otherwise, the world is rather fish-free.

And also marine mammal-free, sadly. Adding insult to injury, World Orca Day was yesterday, 14 July – it could not be more appropriate, considering the work orcas are doing attacking yachts these day. Vive les orques!

Known as killer whales, they are actually dolphins. They are big, and they are predators (but humans are not prey) and they can live to be 90 years old.

An orca’s gestation period is 17 months and it therefore must come as no surprise that the mammals experience grief and have been known to carry dead calves for weeks. *SOB*

There aren’t any fish or orcas or whales in The Shifter’s of Lowell Hall… so far? 🐟 🐋 Sadly, there is no orca emoji, either.
