Celebrate Our Apian Pals

Er, one day late.

World Bee Day was 20 May. Yesterday, I got it together enough to make this lil graphic and post it on Facebook and Insta. Sorry, beloved blog! Remember when posting on blogs was the first port of call?

Me too, blog, me too.

So while the United Nations are falling down on many fronts, they are at least dedicating some thought and a page on their website to the bees, whose extinction rate is the worst of all creatures and thus, a danger to them and to us humans.

Who are the reason the extinction rate is so bad.

There’s a list of suggestions down the UN’s page of what humans can do to make things better for bees – whose wellness is directly tied to the robustness of our food supply – and I’d encourage everyone to support their local beekeepers.

I’m off to find a hive to sponsor! Search engining in your locality is your friend here.

FUN FACT! The surname Beckett means ‘bee’ and there’s a hive of them in A Duke at the Door, and as suits their busyness, they run the coaching inn in Lowell Close. One of the lads has a crush on my FMC, Tabitha. Sadly for Mr. Beckett, her affections lie elsewhere…

See here for more info on A Duke at the Door.
